Francesca Pasquali is an associate professor at Bergamo University, working in the area of cultural sociology and media studies. She is part of the academic council of the Bergamo-based Phd programme in Theory and Textual Analysis; she is also part of the academic staff of the Erasmus Mundus Masters Programme in Crossways in Cultural Narratives and of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Programme in Cultural Studies in Literary Interzones. At Bergamo University she also coordinates the activities of the students web-radio and the workshop on Social media e digital storytelling. She published three books and many article on media and new media. Among her main areas of interest: media and social imaginaries - media and participation - media and the city - media and generations - media and the body - digital storytelling and transmedia storytelling - social reading e-books and theories of authorship. She is the local coordinator of a founded National Research Project (PRIN, year 2009) devoted to Social relations and identities on the Internet: experiences and narratives of the Italians in the social networking sites. She is also part of the Management Committee of COST Action IS0906 Transforming Audiences, Transforming Societies.
